Downton and EastEnders to Clash on Christmas Day
Downton Abbey is to return on December 25th clashing with a festive episode of EastEnders at 9pm. The BBC evening schedule for the big day kicks off with Doctor Who at 7pm followed by Strictly Come Dancing at 8pm.
Up against these for ITV will be All Star Family Fortunes at 7pm and Coronation Street at 8pm. BBC finish the day strongly with the classic sitcom Absolutely Fabulous at 10pm and Michael McIntyre's Christmas Comedy Roadshow at 10.30pm. BBC's schedule is further supported by a new adaptation of 'The Borrowers' starring Stephen Fry and Victoria Wood which will air on Boxing Day at 7.30pm with the new David Jason comedy 'The Royal Bodyguard' at 9.30pm.
ITV have scheduled 'The Clocks' a new Poirot instalment in opposition at 9pm. A new three part adaptation of Great Expectations runs in the 9pm slot on December 27, 28 and 29 and the BBC have high expectations that this will do well. The Beebs new Christmas trailer is 'Consider Yourself One of Us' and it looks as if many will do so.
