The BCSC Purple Apple Marketing awards are the only awards which recognise and reward successful shopping centre marketing within the UK retail sector. These awards showcase new industry standards of innovation, delivery and performance, taking shopping centre marketing to the next level.
With the help of Blue Tiger, Metquarter entered into the Effective Advertising category for their 2011 ‘A Gift to You’ Christmas campaign.
The campaign aimed to support collaboration of tenants by increasing sales and footfall, targeting high spending AB clientele within Symbols of Success and Suburban Comforts mosaic groups. With the difficult economic climate and unemployment prominent within the catchment consumers are becoming more empowered and proactive in seeking discounts. Research from Experian reports over recent years UK Internet searches for discount vouchers have increased by 47.5%.
Featured brands within the promotion saw a sales uplift of up to 50% over the campaign period, centre footfall increased 1.6% year on year and traffic to the Metquarter website increased 58% from 2011.
